WEEK 7 MID TERM SEMESTER BREAK

TASK FOR TODAY

1.
Creating the height map and texture for the height map

My task is to model the environment in cryENGINE. to start the  job we are firstly working on the texture to be set up using CRAZYBUMP software. Me and Roschelle Gonzales help each other for texture for the entire project.

During Semester break as on its sem break we decided to work on our group assignment towards the process of the enviroment. During this stage its such a frustration to still continue on working on the height map for cryengine terrain we tried so many ways to re edit the exact map height and shape of the terrain but we seems to be not getting the correct way to do it.

I asked Shaun for help towards the height map. we have both sat down in one computer to re edit the  height map for the 2nd time. Because the first one seem to be so large and the other part of the area is not really nessesary to be part of it. We centered the aerial ropeway when we crop the image from google earth maps.

Due to the first height map we made a new height map that will only focus on the surroundings that the aerial ropeway  will be placed in the middle. The red marker is our guide to show where we are going to placed the tower

2. Layer Painting the the whole entire terrain

I used this texture to apply within the whole terrain to give that cliff effect

For the grassy effect  within the vegetation area of the terrain

The ground  to blend in the texture using all of this in photoshoped.

I used photoshoped to create this kind of texture effect to give the terrain abit of a realistic terrain texture from far.

Task I have been assigned for this week is layer painting.

3. Filming group video for the CONFLICT presentation
Story telling of the video before we started filming

The whole idea of this scenes are all contributed by group team.

5 Type's of Conflict attitude that anyone in a group or work area deal with that has been chosen to be act in the video

1. Situation: Independent Conflict

Problem:
Shaun (leader) called a group meeting to start the project and have a group discussion. All group members agreed to be there on the time scheduled for the next meeting.

Meanwhile one of the group team member Eugelyn did say that she will defenetly be there. On the day that the group meet up she is the only one missing and everyone is counting on her to be there because she has been assigned in a important role to get the project started. The members tried to contact her but is busy with something else that isn't important.

Solution:
In this scenario just simply shows that it is important to be on time or always keep on eye on your own time management for your self  and consider the important task that you will have to contribute to the group.

2. Situation: Difference in Backgroup/ Gender

Problem:
Shaun (leader) Is working on Cryengine Level and doesn't seems to know how to fix a problem on the file he's working on Roschelle offered if he needs help but he under estimate woman so instead he ask Paul for help and told roschelle to make a sandwhich instead. This situation shows that he doesn't treat everyone equally.

Solution:
We repeated the same scene but swap the situation with a respectful attitude towards the team member with added sense of humor to the viewers.

3. Situation: Difference in Leadership

Problem:
Group member has chosen Shaun to be the team leader. But Paul doesn't seems to agree to about the situation because he also wanted to be the leader. These scene is added with abit of comic style scene with the sword fight.

Solution:
We repeated the same scene but change the situation with a respectful attitude towards the team leader by respecting all member vote to appoint the shaun as a leader and we added with sense of humor to the viewers by using the sword.

4. Situation: Personality Clashes/ style and conflicting skills

Problem:
Group member Eugelyn and Elah modeled the same object in different type software they are both skilled to the software that they are using but they are very competitive and couldn't admit and agree which is best. both software are both best but each has a good advantage tools that the other software don't have

Solution:
Shaun came to the rescue to stop all the noises hearing all these argument about the object that has been modeled. He had a look and made a suggestion to resolve the problem. He commented that the other one is best and modeled in detailed and more accurate. Elah quickly noticed and realised that its the best to work together rather than argueing Eugelyn agreed and they both came up with the idea to use both software by using the detailed model from Inventor and Use the 3DS max to give the object a realistic texture to make it looks presentable to the client.

4. Situation: Different goals and expectations

Problem:
Client not happy to the outcome of the project that he asked the group to do. The group just couldn't understand what does the client really wants for the project. The group is confused and didn't really know where there project is all about.

Solution:
The whole group have gathered to have a meeting to discuss about the solution of how they are gonna come up with the idea of how it will work out to impress the client. We have came up the idea of seperating 3 different level to divide the project in to  parts. 1st one is the level with all the vegetation and the aerial ropeway enviroment, 2nd the enviroment level showing how the bucket used to work in animation using 3ds max. 3rd is Final outcome of combining  all fully detailed level where all the animation and road map for people to walk around in the level when they get to test the interaction level using the game.

4. Start with AdobePremier video editing Group Presentation "5 TYPES OF CONFLICT"
